Since starting my toy collection, fantasy toys quickly became a hobby and interest that has stuck with me strongly. - I am based in Europe (UK)!USAGE/ANATOMY:
- I am transmasculine, use testosterone (6+ years), and use toys mostly either anally or on my tdick.
- I do not have a prostate, penis, or balls, and I do not use toys vaginally, so I can't review toys from this perspective.
- I review from the perspective of a post-t and pre-op transmasc person who does not do vaginal play!- I enjoy insertable toys and these make up the majority of my collection.
- I also use packers and mini penetrables, for both gender related reasons and for sexual health reasons.
- Currently I'm looking to explore more vibes, suction, pulse, and glass/metal toys.
- I use my toys solo.PREFERRED TOYS:
- I really enjoy equine-inspired toys with flared heads and tube-like shapes, and maw/tentacle-inspired toys with tapered shapes.
- I prefer toys that aren't too long (my limit is around 6"~ for depth) and that have moderate thickness.
- I prefer fantasy/nonrealistic/cartoony toys, usually based on monsters or furries or abstract concepts.
- I love to try new and different types and shapes of toys!- I love pastel/pastel goth, rainbow/vivid/eyestrain, opalescent/crystalline/colourshift, pink, purple, blue, black, grey, white, uv and gitd toys. I especially love pink/blue or pink/black pours, and rainbow/vivid pours.TOY BOX:

Intro:

James (Large) is a thick equine-style insertable toy from VaaChar, a German fantasy indie shop. Starting out with an intense flared head and then continuing to a thick shaft with a prominent medial ring, this toy is clearly aimed at girth lovers.James is fairly smooth and doesn't display much texture or detailing other than a few subtle veins on the shaft, making it ideal for those who just want to focus on the toys' girth, flared head, and medial ring.James at the time of writing this review only is available in one size: large, which may make this model inaccessible to those who prefer different dimensions for their toys. I ordered mines in size large with firmness soft, however the toy I received was actually fairly rigid and does not bend or squish much, and is undeniably dense. This is thankfully not an issue for me and my use, however it should still be noted that the "soft" option does not feel like a typical soft to me personally, and feels much more comparable to my medium or firm toys in 00-50 or 8A. My order was in late 2022.The finish of the toy is admittedly a little rough- with some noticable surface texture, lines, and other slight cosmetic issues apparent across the toy. This does not affect use or safety, and it doesn't bother me personally, but those who prefer a more polished quality for their toys may be bothered by this.I ordered my James custom in the colour "light purple" for a more mystical and fantasy vibe, and I like how the colour came out. The order came with a James mini squishy, which is fun to play with.I really like how this toy looks- I'm a fan of thick toys and equine toys, and James does both really well. With many equine-style toys I'm usually put off by their length (I cannot do depth play, sadly) or their realistic details/features. James to me especially in this colouration reads as somewhat cartoony and fantasy which is exactly what I like. The length is fairly modest which is perfect for me, although I often struggle to reach the medial ring which is placed fairly low on the toy.

Usage (Anal):

It should be noted that I review from the perspective of a transmasculine person! This means I do not own a prostate and cannot comment on prostate stimulation or play. :)With a head circumference of 7.1", a shaft circumference of 6-6.8", and a 6.89" usable length, I definitely wouldn't recommend this toy for a beginner or someone who struggles with larger sizes, but it's absolutely perfect for those of us who crave something thicker. And if you love thickness, this toy has certainly got it. During play with James, I always have to thoroughly warm up with other toys before even thinking about choosing to play with him. This hefty toy does not play around, and its blunt, thick, flared head, especially given the unyielding firmness of my James, can make for a fun challenge to insert.After warming up properly and finally surpassing his fat flared head, a smooth and thick tube-shaped shaft awaits below, which makes for a very filling and satisfying experience along with the flared head. When using James, the flared head can be intense and noticable at every point of play- I can often feel the flared head stretching my insides out as the toy moves through me- it's a very nice feeling. Thrusting with him is one of the most intense stimulation a toy has brought me so far, and the fat and firm head makes for a wonderful 'popping' sensation upon inserting it and pulling it out. The shaft is smooth with very little texture, but is still pleasant in use and is very filling.I like to either thrust or ride this toy, and both work fine. I tend to use this toy as a "finisher"- closer to the end of my play sessions after I have already warmed up with fingers/smaller toys due to its size and shape.Due to the shape of the base and how heavy he is, he can be a little hard to wield and thrust with. Getting a decent grip on him can be a challenge at times. Riding on him or using him with a suction cup, if you have one that would support him, might be easier for folks like me who struggle with gripping the toy while thrusting and not losing grip or running out of strength/energy.Unfortunately I cannot reach his medial ring, as my body struggles with depth over or around 6 inches. At a usable length of 6.89" and a medial ring very far down on the shaft, it is entirely out of my range. I would have liked to see the medial ring further up on the shaft so that it's more easily reachable, but that's just me personally.For playing with James, I'd heavily recommend that you own a toy somewhat around his size and use that to warm up with first before taking him on- this is not a toy most can just pick up and use straight away with no warmup or prep! James is certainly a challenge for me- but a very satisfying one that never dissapoints. I really like this toy, and it has since started my obsession with tube-shaped, thick, flared equine-style toys!

Accessibility, Cleaning & Care:

AccessibilityAccessibility wise, this toy's base shape and weight may cause issues for some people. I had some issues finding a good way to grip onto the base when thrusting with it and sometimes struggled keep a good hold on the base, as there's little in the way to grip/hold onto on the top half of the base, and the base of the toy is on the larger and heavier end. I usually have to resort to holding onto the lower end of the shaft to get a better hold on James.The toy can be weighty- and with the toy's large balls at the bottom end of the base, this can weigh down the toy even more while holding it up and thrusting with it. The base is fairly big/wide and works well with double sided suction cups- just make sure the cup is big enough to support the weight of the toy and the size of the base.For riding, the toy seems capable of this without bending or shifting much, although this will depend on the firmness you get the toy in- softer firmnesses will be more wiggly and less stable.CleaningFor cleaning, this toy is fairly simple and easy. There's little texture to get in the way of cleaning, and the finish is still pretty smooth despite some cosmetic flaws and surface texture. James doesn't need any special care, and cleans up pretty easily!I use basic bar soap and warm water to clean my toys. For complete sterilization, boiling or bleaching (never boil bleach, do one or the other!) is also an option (if the toy is 100% platinum cure silicone with no electronics or other sensitive parts), but just regular soap and water fits most of my needs and is enough to clean the toy for me and my uses. Most soap is just fine for platinum cure silicone, but double check to make sure your soap doesn't contain silicone in it- as this can potentially damage silicone toys.Look out for ingredients ending in "-cone", "-silane", "-conol", "-siloxane", etc, as these often indicate a silicone ingredient. If unsure about if a new soap is okay for your silicone toys, try double checking the ingredients and/or using the soap on a "test" piece or area of silicone you wouldn't mind being potentially damaged, if you have one. Many fantasy toy stores will offer a small silicone freebie in their packages- like the mini version of James that VaaChar gave me with my order. These can be used to "test" out new soaps and lubes before using them on your fullsize toy, to make sure your new soap/lube plays nice with silicone.Toy care and storageFor lube, only use water-based or oil-based lubes, as any lubes with silicone can damage the toy. If unsure, check the ingredients first and/or do a test, same as you would for soaps (detailed above). Personally I use X-Lube, which is a water-based power lubricant that you mix into a liquid lube yourself at home. I really like it, it lasts a very long time and it's very thick and slippery- although it's not always suitable for vaginal play due to its ph levels.For storage, make sure the toy is stored dry. Storing a toy wet can potentially harbor bacteria growth, which can ruin a toy. Always store your toys clean and dry. Make sure to store your platinum cure silicone toys away from other toys that are not made of the same material- unless you know for sure the two materials will be safe touching each other.It is possible for silicone toys to melt, break down, bond together, etc, when stored directly touching other toys of made other materials- such as toys made of unsafe materials. Platinum cure silicone toys can be stored directly touching other platinum cure silicone toys, but just be wary when storing platinum cure silicone toys directly touching toys of different materials.Many shops offer toy bags to help store toys seperately from other toys and to help protect them whilst in storage. You can also pick up generic fabric or canvas bags from just about anywhere if you need them for toy storage.

Summary:

I enjoy my James a lot- he's perfect for my preferences. He can give a very delightful stretch and a very intense sensation in use. I enjoy thick toys with flared heads, and James does just that very well. I'd recommend him for those looking to try out a flared fantasy toy, if they feel ready to take on his size, that is!If you're curious about equine-style toys, I'd recommend giving this one a try. Just keep in mind it only comes in one size, and it might be firmer than expected. Regardless, I really like James and consider him a great toy with a solid place in my collection.Pick up a James from VaaChar here!
